Cattle Men In the Evening Sky

Cattlemen in the evening sky Who have gone to their by and by Have been seen now and again By those considered special friends. Ridin' the stars and ropin' the moon Making it easy as they zoom Only one in a million times they miss They're lassoing is very crisp. Each helps the stars that's in the sky So they may always stay up high When they're not careful we lose a star That once was seen from quite afar. Now with the greenhorns they have fun When they show each how it is done Ridin' the stars and ropin' the moon Making it easy as they zoom.

this is a very creative poem. You did a good job with rhyme and meter as well. As for your question on haiku vs. senryu. The premise of the AHA contest was to do a situation that is AHA. Many of the poets did non nature ones. I think it should have been a senryu contest personally. Anyway, these days I am seeing more and more haiku that are also senryu. It's like the umbrella under which senryu falls. But some poets are naming senryu as haiku. HOpe that makes sense!!
