Caterpillar

Inching along through this world disenchanted
Oh what cruel fate has bound thee to this earth
An ordinary life is not for you
A shining star in the darkest of night
Knowing more is needed and hungered for
From this lackluster existence you'll exile
To ascend high in the cerulean sky
Flying blissfully with birds heavenward
Enduring nevermore these earthbound days
Depart on a journey of metamorphoses
A sabbatical to revive the soul
Cocooning thyself in a shell of silk
Chrysalis evolves; transformation begins
The heart will reveal when the time is nigh
Emerging majestic from thy womb reborn
