Castle of Flowers a Collaboration With Ian Jones
Another day of crazy heat
Sweat flowing, lethargy creeping
Shimmering images rise up from the street
I grab my towel, no time for sleeping
Singing giggles
Of colourful tickles
Endearing children castles
What is that joyous sound from the pool?
I eagerly peer from behind a tree trunk tall
A writhing castle of children playing, I feel such a fool
As I hide and I smile and I watch them all
The dancing littles
The heart sizzles
With love whistles
Pure joy rises as turrets of arms and legs
With trumpet calls of shrieks and laughs
The castellations of bobbing heads
And a draw bridge lowers as one falls off
The mind drizzles
The mite bubbles
Free young stars, pure bundles
The bright Spring flowers of our tomorrow
Splashing and laughing with no pretences
The love generated by them, no room for sorrow
This Castle of Flowers with fun time defences
Such innocent windows
Of future heroes
Kingdoms blooming for tomorrows
