Casting Away

CASTING AWAY

Casting away into a sea of inner misery
All the many hurts, hardships and pitfalls of life's journey
Scratching, soul searching and unable to so find
The all-consuming answers, some not so kind
Into a long endless tunnel, life can take a hard toll
Never ending turmoil's can look like an ugly dark troll
Gravity of it all can sometimes cause hyperbole.

Although at times our inner demons can cause heartaches to be
Wilted, weathered taken for granted or nourished as can well
And forever planted in a healthy garden to see
Yet all the well-meaning people, often deceit like hell.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Really nicely expressed Erin. Those inner demons can be hell but not near as bad as the well meaning people who end up turning on us in our time of need. This too is sad and lonely but the emotions are very well describe to allow the reader to feel as they read.

I apologize, I got so caught up in your poem I failed to realize it was an acrostic. That makes it even more special. :)

Yes, those inner demons can be like hell. These days I really feel like I have no family at all. Oh well, life does go on at least I have my writing to keep me company. Thanks for stopping by.
