Cast a Long Shadow

lingering thoughts cast a long shadow
beneath the lambency of full moon
we twirl together, my mind attuned
within the expanse of dreams aglow

i hear your whisper fall in night's air
feel your restless hands yearning for trust
pulling me into your rhythmic thrust
foretaste the climax of dreams we share

yet do i dare love you outside of thought
taste the honey of your lips pressed tight
or lay you down on these sheets of white
inking you in memories as dreams sought?
