Cast
Feel the burning of the lights
Let your heart race for the millionth time
That rush of unseen adrenaline
Wondering when the show will begin
Velvet curtains and gilded ropes
This could make or break your hopes
Will this night leave you in chains
Or will there be something for you to gain
As the lights beat down on you now
You start to sweat before the final bow
You wonder if they notice the flaws in your performance
Hear the acceptance or despair of the audience
Then you make your way to the stage
The world is your oyster or the world is your cage
Hello, judgment, you don't scare me
And I'd never do anything differently
Then at the end when applause fills my ears
It has appeased and dulled my fears
I endured the desperation of the fight
Now there's one question left, is this a play, or real life?
