Casinos Calling

With their flashing lights And enticing bells Hustle and bustle Excitement abounds Heart a'thumping rhythm And music fast-paced Loud speakers blaring Machines everywhere: Look into my eyes You are hypnotized It’s only money Can’t take it with you Deposit right here Around and around So goes the charade The lure of the beast The call of the snare AP: Honorable Mention 2020 Submitted for contest NEW YEAR PREMIERE sponsored by BRIAN STRAND - January 3, 2018

Line, I can really relate to this one, but to me it's not a lure. My husband and i went to Wendover, Nevada a few times and after a few times, it just gets very boring . I see all the people sitting in a daze at the machines, wasting all their money. It makes you feel kind of dirty to even be there. Yet there are folks losing their homes and families by allowing this in their lives. you painted the picture of it well.

How true and sad to watch as an 'outsider' when that lure doesn't work on us. So many types of addiction. I'm happy with my poetry addiction.
