Caress

Your sweet, warm breath
Upon my neck
Your lips tender
Upon my hair
We lie close and careful,
Your softly rumbling voice
My lullaby
A light caress
Against my cheek
And a soft squeeze
Lures me to sleep

Only to wake
To a fright in the night
A black room, empty and cold
But i soon remember you,
And my trembling hands
Navigate the darkness
And find your warmth
So I can pull myself closer,
Back under your arm
As you mumble
Something silly in your slumber
