This is really charming! I love how you used the acrostic to tell a little love story through the cardinal’s perspective. The imagery is bright and hopeful, especially with the red wings and the arrival of love. It feels gentle and uplifting.

Aren't male cardinals beautiful? Your lines are, they gave me a front porch view to 1 of God's wonders in action. Recently, I was merely, maybe 20 feet, from a male woodpecker and I'd never seen one up close; a tiny package of magnificent beauty and determination. He ignored me while intently pecking a palm tree in my yard. Aren't we blessed to love and enjoy such sights? I've paid for entertainment that didn't bring me nearly as much joy which your poem also gave me. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
