Captain Noah's Cruise

Noah welcomed his passengers aboard the ark two-by-twos, For a trip ordained by God, a hundred and fifty day cruise. It rained steadily for forty miserable days and nights. The waters of the deep lifted them to towering heights! His manifest listed an assortment of strange bedfellow, Ever whining with a din of roars, screeches and bellows! No one was pleased with their meager accommodations. The captain's purser was pressed to quell all frustrations! Elrod the elephant wanted a stall upgrade ere the trip had begun. Brian the lion was always on the prowl, snapping at everyone. Gus the hippopotamus complained about the poor cuisine. Mr and Mrs Wildebeest were bored with the whole routine! Lena the hyena annoyed all with her constant, raucous laugh. Low ceilings and doorways irritated Mr and Mrs Giraffe. Amanda the panda was agitated about the quality of bamboo. And hopping mad about everything was Mister Kangaroo! The six-hundred year old Noah handled things with great aplomb, Meeting all challenges with great restraint and calm. He would be well-qualified to command a cruise ship today. Two-legged critters he could soothe ere he said, "Anchors aweigh!" Robert L. Hinshaw, CMSgt, USAF, Retired (© All Rights Reserved)
