Capsized Emotion
Alone in the green mind of overgrowth
scrambling through branches of nerves
sifting through thoughts that I thought I had left
resting and safe undisturbed.
Moments of gentle devotion
when my skies were filled up with your name
Capsized emotion caught in slow motion:
an ocean swallowing rain.
Tangled thoughts that I tangled myself
and your face becomes elusive
I wonder if you can pull mine up clear
without all the bumps and the bruises.
I know why I dream in color conundrums
and I’m thick in the morning with sleep
My brain’s deepest caverns lit by nerve lanterns
in secret your memory keep.
