Can'T Sleep
It's 2am and quiet now
but for the music from my speakers
and the traffic occasionally passing by
At 2am there's little movement
in my apartment except for my fingers
and the mice on their wheel, they sure do fly
When it's 2am the pull of the bed
is like a magnet, strong, relentless, inexorable
yet here I am again wide awake and pissed
At this 2am I'm left to wonder
of all the other 2 am's I dreamingly floated by
and I jealously think of the sleep that's missed
It's 2am and I'm wide awake
left with my music, traffic, and mice
but to be sound asleep sure would be nice
It’s 2am and this is getting old
Sitting here typing listening to sounds of silence
It’s 2am and I want sleep … any advice?
