Can'T Get Right

Lunatic, Touched,
                                       Mad, Crackpot, Psychotic, 
                                Crazy, Cuckoo, Insane, demented,
                                     Nuts, Loco, Loony, Paranoid,
                                   Schizophrenic—can’t get right!

                                Offensive words used to figuratively, 
                          describe one’s mental condition for Millennia,
                       Such a dark place, lonely, and fraught with fright
                          The research is clear, most suffer for many a
                                          year—can’t get right!

           Mental illness, Melancholy, The blues.., the classic definition of a
        bummer. All this time thinking one’s fine, just ‘marching to the beat 
   of a different drummer!’ Self-help books, tapes, and CDs produced by Guru experts iconic! If someone could help themselves, why would they need to get help from others? ‘Self-help’ is a hoax, the cruelest of jokes, even the term is oxymoronic! Emotional blight ‘just get over it’ hype—can’t get right!
 
                                     Off one’s rocker, Fruit cake,
                                  Deranged, Disturbed, Bananas, 
                             Maniac, Gone round the bend, Insane,
                                Psycho, Absurd, Out of one’s mind,
                                  Offensive words—can’t get right!
