Cant Be (1)

The Girl Called Her Best Friend Up Late One Night
"Can You Come Over? Mom And Daddy Had A Fight."
He Rubbed His Eyes Awake "Yeah Ill Be Right There Boo"
"Thank You Babe. Oh God Thank You."
They Hung Up Their Phones, And She Walked Out The Door
She Waited On The Stairs, Till He Got There
When He Saw Her State, He Wanted To Run
Not Away, But Up To Her
He Held Her In His Arms, Till Her Tears Were All Done
"Boo Why Were They Fighting. Was It Something You Said Or Have Done?"
She Shook Her Head No, Then Shook Her Head Yes
"Babe, You Cant Be My Childrens God Father." She Whispered Finally, Still Upset
"Why?" He Asked "Who's Better Than Me?"
She Hid In His Arms And Mumbled "Thats Just It! No One Is Better. They Never Can Be."
"I Dont Understand." The Boy Said Thoughts Swarming In His Head
"I Love You Boo. So Why Not?" He Whispered, Quiet As Death
She Took A Deep Breath
Then Looked Into His Dark Eyes
Before Getting Lost, She Stopped Her Cries
"Because" She Whispered Soft
"Your My Baby's Dad." And From Her Sleeve, Her Heart She Doff

What a situation! How will it resolve itself. Vivid description of family strife. Yours Matthew Anish
