Thanks SKAT, the last line just sort of appeared on its own and perhaps embodies the hesitancy of a small nation (in population) next to its big brother.

There are three things I like about your poem - it's traditional form, the emotion at "beloved", and the successful third line in moving the poem along, which, as Kim says, leaves something to ponder upon. I am giving it a 7, and marking it a FAVE.
