Can You See

Can you See
By Kevin Robey
November 24, 2013

Can you see my heart it's reviewing
Mirrored windows every day they sing
Suspicious car wreck I’m leaving behind
If this is my death, at least I’m not blind

Can you see my mind it's retracing
Wind up rag dolls without springs
Reciting lines I should have said
Yielding tears I refused to shed

Can you see my soul it's reclaiming?
Every day the phone didn’t ring
Mistakes I made will never say
She remolded my soul like clay

Can you see my eyes refocusing?
Happy thoughts that passion brings
To find again the truth within
I’ll re-emerge where I begin
