Can You Bear It

Can you bear to remember The pain is like an undying ember Where the memory is such a drain That causes you a painful refrain Do you feel it in your pit of your stomach As it is replayed as an ache Then there are days when you wonder If the recall will drag you asunder So you test to see if the pain is as bad Then you find the memory is just as sad To endure such sadness is a task When better days are all you ask. © Paul Warren Poetry
