Why would we be friends
After becoming ex-lovers
Refusing not to travel
This fateful course?
How can we be friends
After burning the covers
And breaking flesh and bone
Through this divorce?
Why should we be friends
After taking new lovers
Because we couldn't find it
Within the source?
How can we be friends
After remembrance hovers
'Round betrayal and distrust
With or without remorse?
