Can Love Be Far Behind
Love came along just like a song
That never had been sung.
A friendship grew and soon we knew
Our life had just begun.
The hope you brought was what I’d sought
To ease my troubled mind.
You came to me with a touch so kind –
Can love be far behind?
When two hearts beat to a rhythm so sweet,
Can love be far behind?
When arms reach out to a mind in doubt,
Can love be far behind?
Can love be far behind
For two hearts so inclined?
When two hearts seek eternity,
Can love be far behind?
At first, I thought you’d only be
The friend I needed so.
But soon we found the quiet sounds
That only lovers know.
We should have been just simply friends
But, life was much too kind.
When you and I exchange a sigh
Can love be far behind?
When two hearts beat to a rhythm so sweet,
Can love be far behind?
When arms reach out to a mind in doubt,
Can love be far behind?
Can love be far behind
For two hearts so inclined?
When two hearts seek eternity,
Can love be far behind?
