can I keep them

Can I keep them? They followed me home.
I knew they would be great models, and end up in a poem.
My husband did not look up from his nap.
He snored loudly, hoping I would go away in a snap.

I had brought in a dragon, bear and honey bee.
I get to keep you, I told them, best of all, you were free.
The bear was yellow, a sincere, sweet, engaging fellow.
The dragon had some issues, went through lots of tissues.

I kept them both, but the bee had to go.
He kept getting lose and dive bombing us “to and fro”.
