Can Absence Rekindle My Flame
It's a puzzle with one missing piece,
it won't let me complete this game;
sweetness is not found in a Reese
candy bar, it's such an urge to tame!
I resist each and every temptation
for a day or two without a caress,
and looking at happy lovers kiss...
I get emotional and cry in pain!
Can absence rekindle my flame?
I throw pebbles in the blue lake,
making another wish for my sake;
why do roses smell all the same?
Can absence rekindle my flame,
can it undo what I really became...
if it vanished to feed my vanity?
A pretty girl stares at me and smiles,
it's a whiff of scented wind that promises
little or nothing that leads to certainty!
I stand still and not smile,
could it be real or a mere delusion?
Should I resent the intrusion?
Oh, her smile stretches for a mile!
oh, it charms, it delight me;
I doubt that it deceives me!
Can absence rekindle my flame,
restart the passion long lost to time?
No desire is greater than mine:
I've put to rest sadness and blame!
