Calliope-Inspired By Vijay's Comment

Can't explain
an emotional surge
lingered in thoughts
listless soul speaks
in metered gasps
of breathless sighs
pulse of words fall
eminent on page

just scribbling inspired by Vijay's comment on one of my recent poems

With a name literally meaning "beautiful-voiced" (from kallos, meaning "beauty," and ops, meaning "voice"), Calliope was the most prominent of the Muses-the nine sister goddesses who in Greek mythology presided over poetry, song, and the arts and sciences. She is represented in art as holding an epic poem in one hand and a trumpet in the other.

Beautiful and somewhat deep. Like the sound of a calliope, your words bring enchantment in a haunting sort of way.

Thank you for the footnote Sandy. Just like the name Calliope evokes, beautiful-voiced is your poem. I am thrilled that you credit me for the inspiration..but your work my friend stands on its own merit..and it always speaks to the poem Calliope holds in one hand. Keep writing beautiful poetry--I know you make Calliope proud.

Thank you so much, what are the odds that Calliope would be the word of the day when i went to write a poem in response to your last comment...it was meant to be written! Credit given where credit is due...Hugs to you my friend for your heartfelt comments and support :)

A Wow for my enjoyment level but my curiosity won't behave, I can't stand not knowing where to find Vijay's comment that inspired this soul groped imagery that's so effective. Great penning ... CayCay
