Calling Must Prevail

Today I enter a world unknown; one of struggle, pain, and fear.
Windows to my soul witness sin’s grasp on humanity.
Through Christ, my God, calling must prevail.

Blessings cast across life; generations of Christian men precede me.
Twenty-two years prepare my heart for a life of worship.
Through Christ, my God, calling must prevail.

Faith conquers reservation; with God alone, self can thrive.
Beauty will be realized as I walk toward hopeful daylight.
Through Christ, my God, calling must prevail.

Thanks. I wrote this poem the night before I graduated from college. I had a lot of hope and fear rolling through my head that night.
