Calling

Today I heard something calling
I looked around the yard
I'd been depressed and fighting it
Trying really hard

It made a sweet promise
Of immediate peace
The more that I ignored it
The sound it would increase

The wind picked up quite quickly
So I'm watching the weather
I look into the sky
And see a falling feather

It lightly touched down
On the grass of green
Laying there not moving
What a glorious scene

The sound kept getting louder
Now a tear in my eye
Threatening to spill over
As I look to the sky

Looking down again
For the feather on the ground
Bent over picked it up
Immediate peace was found
