Called By Cobain - Seance

Beside midnight's minting bare branches
Dead fingered messages on bedroom pane scratches
Four awe struck teens oija board captured
Followed fast spelt results, from rock star sanctioned

             Questions asserted by incredulous desires
Hoisted upturned glass drawn answers much admired
Grave lain idol caressed all the girls inquired
Decisive planchette slide surprised previous denyers

Eerie sequenced letters spelt Cobain's cause of death
Conduit confirmed it an accident, fans bereft
Of Kurt's cutting edge grunge, now Nirvana aroma left
Bygone, but through them, legend found breath

NB - Biological studies have demonstrated that the
phenomena of seemingly self driven planchettes
during seances is caused by the ideomotor effect,
a sub concious physical response. Ironically, the
less control participants think they have, the more
         their subconscious controls what happens.

A unique and compelling topic, Sigrid. I like the explanation you gave for how the Ouija Board works. One time it spelled out the name of the man a friend of mine would marry. She hadn't even met him yet. Congratulations on your win! Best wishes, Carolyn

Great poem, Sigrid! Love the way you brought it all together with the Seance. The story behind his death definitely made the mind to wonder. Peace, Angie

Fascinating Sigrid my biggest hero is Kurt Cobain, def most influential in my time anyway, montage of heck documentary gives great insight into his mindset love life music and drug addiction, brilliant how you came up with this seance idea for your poem, absolutely love it, I’ve made brief allusions to him in some of my poems, you may just have inspired me to write a full one about him in the future, he certainly deserves it, I still listen to Nirvana while I workout so inspirational cheers David

Enamoured by your devotion, David. 'Something In The Way' expresses your admiration entirely. Huge accolades yours for doing it

Might take a while but it’s in my subconscious just need the right moment to tease it out, I’d say for a girl he must’ve seemed like the ultimate guy, he had everything going for him, but just went about his business as you said in a regular manner, cheers David

... I have recently watched a few hours of Kurt interviews. He is a fascinating lovely person. A genius wrapped in regular Joe stance.

Oh wow. That's so cool. Absolute idol to my group of peers briefly... Still nothing like Nirvana... You are a bigger fan though, I go more towards rnb. Keenly looking out for your Kurt poem, David. Cheers!

I have no understanding of seances and such, and don't even know who Kurt Cobain is/was, though I've heard the name -- yet I find this poem truly entertaining (as well as quite informative). Thank you so much, Sigrid! ~ Bring 'em back, dead or alive, Frank Buck
