Callas

From poverty to superrich, A Prima Donna - some say witch - But what a voice that lady had. Oh, she was Tosca, driven mad, And she was Norma, Butterfly, And many more who loved, to die. She died alone, a broken heart: Maria Callas lived for art. (witch wasn't the word I originally wrote, but it wasn't permitted - witch in this context means shrewish woman).

I belive you've penned the right picture of Maria Callas, Jack! I myself am not really enthusiastic for operas and prefer theatre plays. Enjoyed the read this early Tuesday afternoon. And thank you for your kind comment on "Flowers of Spring". I am living only footsteps away from the Polish and Czech border, quite a nice place!....Have a great week!...Ger:)

are you kidding? They actually have little popup thingswhen we try to write certain words?? What if you were truly writing about that kind of a dog?? I find it absurd because lots of animal trainers use that word. The truly vulgar words are obvious but many words are in the middle! there is a lot of grey area in language!

I LIKE IT . It's short and to the point, and that is what makes it so appealing when reading bio type poems. I wish you best of luck if this was for that one contest!

She certainly did have an incredible voice, Jack. Opera lovers will never forget her. I didn't know she was a prima donna, though. This would make a great entry for Chris Matt's new contest! Hope you'll submit it. Love, Carolyn
