Notes About The Poem

Call of the Blue Jay

the blue jay's pained call

                  mirrors the melancholy...

                                                  of a rainy day.

I love the blue jay's caw; he scares away the other birds as he flies down, trying to make friends. It makes me feel sad as the other songbirds fly off, ignoring him.
