Well, at least users will be guaranteed absolute freedom of speech, now that one man will be in charge of everything! LOL. ~ Xi Jinping

Hmmm...I never mastered the intricacies of Twitter. I suppose Musk will make changes? I wonder what he wants it for? And, is it really worth that kind of money???

As to the worth, what the market thinks something is worth is indeed weird. I'd be concerned the dynamic would change a lot going from public to private, from progressive to libertarian, don't know if the user base will stay / change...

It's strange animal. I could care less about the followers stuff. I do find it a good way to get information quickly, with the risk of it being not always correct - buyer beware. Also, a lot of good studies / papers / research are linked to from twitter feeds. But it generates a lot of hate in the comments, and I bailed a while back.
