Cage

Engulfed in bars which cage me in
Locked inside this nightmare
From which I never can win

Surrounded by plastic people who do as they are told
None of them unique
And the role they play is getting old

Doing what is expected of them to fit in with the crowd
Reading from a script
That’s all they are allowed

Chiseling their faces and sculpting new shapes
As if they are super hero’s
Hidden beneath a cape

Believing perfection is important in order to succeed
Thinking love is made of plastic
And wrapped with a bow of greed

Cages hold us hostage in our world of make believe lies
Where everyone becomes someone else
Hiding behind a disguise

Do you chose to remain trapped inside a cage doing as people say
Or do you chose to be your own person
And finally break away
