Cactus

I've been arid for so many years I've forgotten what rain feels like against my prickly spines. A single droplet plops down from the swirling clouds Splattering against my skin And I'm suffocating in its embrace. I'm drowning when I'm dry Can't even cry Even while stuck on the land I don't know how to try Someone help me Please come and save me Take this tear from the heavens And wipe it away I'm drowning when I'm dry Can't even cry Even while stuck on the land I don't know how to try to remove this curse from the sky So I stand with a nonexistent sigh.
