Bygone Childhood Memories
Memories are the lamps that illuminate the dark channels of life
Eden Verse
In the light of summer sunset
Shimmer they on silver sands
Days of childhood days of mirth
Come and stand in bygone lands
Mist on shore and time of morning
Bring with them the Days of yore
Days when life was mirth and Glee
Nights were filled with magic lore
Wondered I a hundred times
when at night I saw a star
Is it lamp of fairy angel
Or the holy shining jar
Then with ravished joy I chanted
"How I wonder what you are
Twinkle twinkle little star "
Gone the days of mirth and Glee
Now it seems that it was dream
Like a rainbow they all faded
No one hath them ever seen
Clock of Time stop thy tick tick
Come and roam with me in past
World of age is world so weary
Every day seems me the last
When we fished in summer noons
With bait and fishing rod in hand
Castles of my friends therest lay
On the shore of silver sand
Air was light and meadow bright
Every land was magic land
But it was when I was child
And the life was but a play
Every sight was fairy sight
Every thing was as they say
Shadows play on olden walls
In darkish night in candle light
Life is woe this life is weary
Come my friends O come and play
Why thou stand in silence phantoms ?
Why thy lips can nothing say
