Bye Mommy

My dearest Mommy, I love you so
My heart is breaking, but I have to go
I fought this fight for as long as I could
My life was short but it was very good
A part of me with you will remain
I’ll be with Jesus in his vast domain
I know you’re hurting but I’ll be okay
Just remember I love you each and every day
I can hear grandma’s voice and grandpa’s too
I think I hear a dog barking, oh my God it’s Boo
Everyone here is smiling, they’re so glad I came
There’s a lot of toys here in heaven and lots of really cool games
Before you know it, I’ll be back in your arms
I’m no longer sick and I’m free from all harm
Jesus loves us all, this I know
Because that bible that you read to me tells us so

Congratulations on your win. A wonderful story/write. Life can be very painful. I am the last child out of 5. (No parents left.) Nov 2019 my brother left. I know how you feel. I am so sorry. May we all meet one day in heaven. Have a blessed day with your wonderful win.............

I remember going to a 5 year old's funeral. I will never forget it - how he looked in his coffin and how his mother's faith kept her from jumping in her own. Thanks for supporting my contest and congrats.

Thanks for the generous placement my friend! I transported my friends dead newborn 200 miles to their home town for the funeral. The casket looked like a little treasure chest

A truly inspiring but sad reflection on a deep loss. I SAW YOUR MENTION ABOUT DEATH OF YOUR BROTHER. I too have lost a young brother, he was electrocuted in 1976 , age 14, I was 22.. It was so very painful and mom hurt so badly. He was the youngest of her 13 children born. GREAT POEM, A FAV..

Losing a child must be so heartbreaking Mark, and its something you often hear about. The only consolation is that they're no longer suffering and have gone to a better place. Tom

I wrote this for a contest. I tried to imagine how my mother felt when my brother was killed.

I personally haven't lost a child, but my mother did before I was born. I also have friends who have. Thanks
