By the Way

I promised I'd always love you
And I always meant it.
I swore I'd never hurt you,
But I did and I regret it.

We both told our lies,
We both made mistakes,
We both fell in love
And that can't be replaced.

To you I was everything
And you were my destiny.
To you I was an angel
And you were made for me.

Time goes on
And I shed less tears,
But deep, deep down
I still have my fears.

I'm scared you'll forget me.
I'm scared you don't care.
I'm scared you'll regret us.
I'm just... scared.

You're still my sacrifice,
I'd still risk the world for you.
Because no one will ever love you
The way I still do.
