By the Time
By the time you read this, I’m going to be far away,
Consumed by thoughts; I was too afraid to say,
How cold I felt, deep down inside.
My pain I just could not hide.
By the time you read this, I’m going to be alone,
Wandering around, hiding from the cold.
You thought you knew me, and in fact you did,
But in the end, there’s no excuse for what was said.
By the time you read this, I’m going to be sleeping,
Hiding in my dreams, while my nightmares creep in.
Your face haunts me deep down inside,
For your beauty still engulfs my mind.
By the time you read this, I’m going to be far away,
Consumed by thoughts; I was too afraid to say,
How cold I felt, deep down inside.
My pain I just could not hide.
For on this day I cry,
I wonder how I let you die...
