the rarified fluid said to flow in the veins of the Gods

Remembering Brenda

Even though it was a stolen kiss
You have the most kissable lips
Soft and receptive
And I’m easily verklempt
And though it was only once
All these years this kiss I’ve kept
Kept in memory one frozen
Yet an ethereal moment we shared
By the stream Ichorous a letter
Read again and again in a dream
It’s the best kiss I have ever had
On your porch, remembering
As if it we’re yesterday
