Notes About The Poem

By the river of Babylon

The clock strikes midnight
under a moon that's bright.
A summer breeze carries a perfume
from jasmine in early bloom
and I walk the beach wishing
you were here within reach.
Eyes locked, hand in hand,
leaving footsteps in the sand
