When a major power outage occurs There's no reason to go on with life Might as well just dig a big hole And jump right on in, my advice Can't function without the net Shows you how much we're a slave To the delicate structure we live by Like going back to living in a cave Scary when you really think about it Our lives hang on by a thread So dependant on things as they are Sometimes the future we dread The world population is leaping ahead At the current unprecedented rate Can we maintain our standard of living Many things determine our fate So a power outage can be annoying But a harbinger of things to come At my advanced age it isn't as critical But for young ones the future is glum

I think many rely too much on modern technology and they're beside themselves if there is an outage. Never had this year's ago, people actually talked to one another. Tom
