By a Strand of String

By a strand of string
I hold on to the concept of life
And the joy it brings.
I sing songs of freedom
Just to hear the tones ring and linger in my ears and inner thoughts of the future
As I picture a world
Attached to its own thread
Swinging from left to right
Until falling head first into the night
Forever out of sight
Never knowing what might have been
If change had come in time.
