Buzzkill--Buzzwords

When people say they’ve "learned to think outside the box”
and want to share their innovative thoughts with me,
I don’t speak up; I don’t like being one who mocks.
They fail to see the situation’s irony!
That phrase is NOT a sign of creativity.

How quickly catchy metaphors become clichés!
The most used buzzwords make some sigh and roll their eyes.
It’s easier to use one than create a phrase
that’s fresh and more expressive. Here’s advice that’s wise:
Leave buzzwords IN the box and hope the whole lot dies.

So true, Janice, and these crazy days where, initials are use instead of the full title. Love this poem, so meaningful.
