Notes About The Poem

Butterflies

BUTTERFLIES

I’d like to spend the night with you.
For the rest of my tomorrows.
Chasing away our loneliness.
And blocking out our sorrows.

While we lay there in the dark.
The only thought in mind.
The comfort we have found.
And joys we’ve yet to find.

No worries of the future.
No worries of wrong or right.
I just long to hold you.
Throughout the dark of night.

To be there when the day light.
Steals its glory from your eyes.
Sending news that you’re awake.
On wings of butterflies

Who's to say it wasn't? :) Thank you Jan It was written at a time when loneliness was all I knew. A confession of faith in a way. Hoping. Someday. Maybe. Hugs. Ed
