But Something Is Missing

The sunshine is shinning on the window sill
but something is missing,
I can feel it still.
The birds are chirping in the tree outside
but something is missing,
deep down inside.
The wind is blowing as my hair flows free
but something is missing,
for me to see.
The clocks are still ticking I can hear the chimes
but something is missing,
time can’t rewind.
My heart keeps beating as the days go by
but something is missing,
as my souls silently cries.
The days keep counting they never end
but something is missing,
still missing my friend.
Life goes on that’s what they say
but something is missing,
as time drifts away.
Memories grow deeper the longer you're gone
but something is missing,
still singing your song.
Releasing the sadness as the light shines in
But something is missing,
sweet spirit still lives.

Great emote. I don't know the guy; read your poem and I miss him, too. What's that?
