But One

This world’s been dark now for a time.
No singers sing or poets rhyme.
How long it lasts nobody knows.
Stress and strife, now clearly shows.

Darkness lit by firelight.
The young and old begin to fight.
Silence falls across the land.
Who will rise to give a damn?

We’re in a fix as all can see.
More freedom stripped from you and me.
What should we do, our end draws near?
Our future now remains unclear.

Patience now becomes our friend.
Stand and watch the time at hand.
The answer lies with all of you.
There is but one to see you through.

There is a mighty bridge, that stretches from shore to shore rising up over the quiet lands, of our hate, of our love, rising up over the muddy waters of our indifference. This bridge is the mighty bridge of the acceptance, of our Creator, of ourselves, of all life for just how this is, and can all be, working together with our Creator, with all life. Our Creator will meet, and greet us, there!
