But I Love Him

( BUT I LOVE HIM )

He's my friend
He has been for a while
And every time I talk to him
On my face appears a smile

He makes me feel special
And that's new to me
He's just as nice
As a guy can be

We joke around
Laugh, smile
And in the end
It's all worthwhile

I love how his eyes
Can see into my soul
I can believe every word
He's ever told

But if he can see into me
Answer me this
Why can't he tell
It's him I want to kiss?

If he's so perfect
Why doesn't he know?
The beating of my heart
Should tell him so

The way my eyes light up
When he sits with me
Should be a clue
If only he could see

It confuses me
I can't like him, he's my friend
But the truth is
I'll love him till the end

It frusterates me
Why can't he tell?!
I mean, I'm giving him clues
That go off like bells

I just hope one day
He will understand
I just hope one day
He'll hold my hand...
