Bury My Heart

Bury my heart
Where I can no longer find it,
Where it may lie unscathed
By you, or love or pain.
I can no longer stand
To suffer with the cycle
Of hurt and disillusionment
If they seek me out again.

When ultimately sunk
In a deep grave for protection
And covered up with dirt
And left alone for sure;
Then please, you must forget
Of where you thought to put it
And let it rest in peace
And look for it no more
