Burning Sighs

Allow me to comb the anger from your hair my dear
with gentle strokes of my melodic care for you,
look at my glowing affection in the smooth mirror of love
as I move your soft mane to the side of your neck
and place my supple lips upon your lower throat with a firm kiss,
let the voice of my deep love reach into the sky of your soul tonight
I've come to explore the Petra of your body and mind
the richness of your color fills my skin
the sweet and natural smell of your longing
plays freely around my nose and tongue
as I enter the narrow passes of your hidden dreams
discovering the treasures that brutes know nothing about,
holding the secrets of your soul close to my chest
the sighs of your delicate heart land on my nerves like thick snowflakes
and they melt so slowly into my carnal desires,
I envelope the back of your hopes with my naked heat,
squeezing my arms around you as we rise to go further
and we join hip to hip
expressing the simmering movements we've felt all along our lips -

Erotic elegance that enhances the romance of two souls sharing their frustrations and fantasies, believing that their combined passion can heal all hurt. I love that you feel the sacred touch of this poem deep within my Lady Hawk, the voice of your sentiment is sweet to me...J.A.B.

In regards to metaphor, here is a quote from Aristotle: "The greatest thing by far is to be a master of metaphor; it is the one thing that cannot be learnt from others; and it is also a sign of genius, since a good metaphor implies an intuitive perception of the similarity in the dissimilar." ... I think in this he is right. New feelings can be expressed simply by noticing two similarities in a thing that no one else has noticed before!

Aristotle's observation and statement is brilliant, and surely this truism applies to all creative endeavors, as with love, its about recognizing the harmony of natures, uniting them to express new life my friend. Original eyes we must have to create new wonder. I'm so thrilled that you shared your knowledge with me Timothy...J.A.B.

I don't often read erotic poetry, but yours definitely takes the cake! I'm perhaps not the best critic when it comes to this theme, but I will say that a few lines got to me "discovering the treasures that brutes know nothing about" "the sighs of your delicate heart land on my nerves like thick snowflakes" ... you are really quite inventive when it comes to metaphor! A thick snowflake? It seems barely perceptible to me, yet it's such an evocative image for it's place in the poem!

The woman I love makes erotic fire of my heart and quill, the pulses we share are so elegant, natural, and epic. Snowflakes are very sensuous, they carry alot of feeling...your compliment brings me great cheer Timothy, for I believe metaphor is the essence of fine poetry, the art of soul...J.A.B.

Love should come and flow so naturally just as this poem flows beautifully, with the intensity and passion that I have always admired of your poetry. This is a beautiful connection beyond the physical-- the minds and body alike joined to infuse together in harmony..."holding the secrets of your soul close to my chest.." .."I've come to explore the Petra of your body and mind.." wow, beautiful lines!

You are master at implementing vibrant color to the soulful and aromatic aspects of love-making, while staying in the physical, enjoying the truly sacred and spiritual sides of this union..the affection through tender touch and true understanding of each others' needs is really special here. Love this poem, dear! Always, Laura
