Burning Desire

Her eyes, like thunder Her whisper, tears asunder Her lashes, they plunder My attention, My dimension, My tension. Her arms, they enclose Her hands, they compose Her fingers, they chose My sanity, My humanity, My vanity. Her well-being is my freeing, My heart is boiled with meaning, My desire burns, so demeaning, Her glance, so stealing My stance, so annealing But with my lust, like fire, With my need, so dire, I turn away, without reason, And my hunger faces treason, Can’t you see, I have traded you, For the world and my surrounding view But is this what I really want?

I like the flow of this poem and the expressiveness of the words. The ironical twist in the end is interesting. I also like the use of the rhetorical question which brings it alive. Welcome to Poetry Soup and keep writing. Blessings, Joseph
