Burn
Who caught your eye this time?
Whose quick remarks made you think twice?
Who made you smile more than usual?
Whose eyes are you smiling back at now?
Whose heart beat are you slowing down?
Whose thoughts are you invading?
Does she appreciate you?
Does she over-analyze your every glance?
Does she count the steps to your door?
Does she wake up thinking of you?
Do her fears of you being a distant memory exist?
Perfect conversation and little stares amount
Your steps become in sync, right left, right left
Your heart beats and her slows down
Beautiful has a different meaning to you
Her.
Hands clasped tight, nothing holding you two back
"Let's take on the world together, we'll win."
Everything becoming so sure, so permanent
Nothing will end this, nothing.
But those brown eyes aren't as inviting as you remember
That smile isn't shining that bright
Her clothes no longer have a faint scent of you
Her quick remarks are slowing down
That heart isn't beating like it used to
You start to slowly push her way
So she starts over-analyzing every little thing
Conversation is dead. Stares are gone
Who caught your eye this time?
Whose quick remarks made you think twice?
Who made you smile more than usual?
Who did your burn this time?
