Bummy Dinner

I remember the time when family stories were share around the dinner table It was a time when there was no television or cable A time when we would pull each other’s legs While adults sipped in one or two pegs And now at the dinner table there is a quiet silence No longer looking to elders for guidance With cell phones being constantly checked Food is treated with disrespect A sacred time now violated We all feel so isolated
