Mine was actually purple from 1969 but I cannot find a picture of it in that color. This is more like pink!

Sept. 30, 2018 for Maureen McGreary's Biker's Dozen Poetry Contest

*Bum can be replaced also by the word buns or my made-up word, bunless. I read that England prefers the slang Bum and US prefers buns!

So cute! My bike was pink and I had a basket on it. My dad built both bikes in his office. My brother and I were curious of what he was doing. A fun memory.

Congrats on your gold medal win, Andrea. I was picturing a kid biking as hard as she could with her bum up off the seat... Fun poem.

I’m not sure if you mean you worked all summer to purchase the bike, or used the bike all summer to aid your slimming regime lol. Who said you can’t do amibuity... Anyway Petal, I expect it was just one short trip down the street to achieve the re-shaping required. Take care, Richard. And bum is much nicer

I sold greeting cards door to door all over my hometown all through the summer in order to be able to buy myself a bike. My family was too poor for me to have the kind I wanted. I would have to use a secondhand bike of a sibling until I could afford my own. I was already quite skinny at age 14, Perhaps I was even younger than that when I got the bike! Oh, and I worked so hard that summer, I got boils on my arms from exhaustion I guess.

Oh, poor bum! Cute one. Posting mine today though I've two practically unread (comment-wise). Tim actually longs for a cycle but I am a motorcycle wimp - the older I get the more wimpy I feel about them. Love to you ... CayCay
