Bumblebee

Oh hello, dear Bumblebee
Tis nice of you to visit me
Now my pink petals open wide
So please feel free to come inside
It will be a bit of a squeeze
Cos you’re one of the bigger bees
Now taste my nectar o so sweet
Please take your time, enjoy the treat
Then in return please will you take
The yellow pollen that I make
And mix it with other flowers’ juice
Then our plant species reproduce
And so we shall go on and on
To create next generation.

Love watching the bees fly from flower to flower. I got couple bee hotels in my garden and have a wildflower patch designed just for the pollinators. We need them more than they do us, Enjoyed your poem Tony, hope you had a good weekend, Emilia : )

At our local nature reserve we have 'bug hotels' to encourage diversity after years of destruction by chemical pesticides. Hopefully we can help restore the balance. Best wishes. Tony

Hello Tony … without bees nothing will survive therefore bees should be worshiped, however, I have never seen a bumble bee apart from photos - thank you Tony - Lindsay

Thanks Lindsay. This came to mind after watching an enormous bumble bee forcing his way into a foxglove flower where he had a free meal and then flew off to spread the pollen. Tony.
